Meet the Pastor
The congregation of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill has called the Reverend Alison to be our new Pastor. Pastor Alison will begin her ministry at Salem on September 21, 2015.

The Reverend Alison Bowlan :
Pastor Alison Bowlan was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College, now University, in Hickory, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Youth and Family Ministries
in May of 2004. She then began her graduate studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. While studying at LTSG, she completed a teaching parish ministry with St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Clinical Pastoral Education at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania and an internship at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated with a Masters of Divinity Degree in May of 2008.
Following graduation, Pastor Alison began her first call as an Associate Pastor for Faith Formation and Action at Grace Lutheran Church in State College, Pennsylvania. She has been serving alongside of this congregation for 7 years, focusing her attention on children, youth, and family ministries along with assisting the Lutheran Student Community at Penn State.
She married Matt Bowlan on New Years Eve of 2008. They have two boys, Simon, age 4, and Titus, 20 months. They are looking forward to their transition to Lancaster County, where Matt will continue to work on establishing an orchard on a family farm in Manheim. Pastor Alison enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
